hello guys.. i've been reading all your replies in this forum and so far i think you guys can really help out.. so i'm posting for the first time with regards to my computer and any help would be really appreciated :)

i just had my computer fixed by a technician and what he did was changed the hard disk of my pc.. that was 2 weeks ago.. but then after that the computer just started restarting on its own..

changed the startup and recovery settings and came up with a BSOD so here goes

The problem seems to be caused by the following file: sysaudio.sys

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Technical Info

*** STOP: 0x00000050 (0xf2c104a8, 0x00000000, 0xb9a6a453, 0x00000000
*** sysaudio.sys - Address b9a6a453 base at b9a6a000, Date stamp 4110741a

could that be the sound card?

plus i cant really play MMO's bec it just freezes and DoTA... man.. that's my favorite game man... could it be somehow connected?

I've also somehow considered my cpu overheating so i downloaded the speedfan but err... i don't know if something is wrong with the values..

help me out guys :)
i'm a nurse so i'm really having a hard time here :)

oh and one more thing.. can somebody tell me how to post screenshots so i can show you guys additional info for future references.. :)

Lets start by checking your RAM. Click on "Memtest Instructions" in my signature and follow the steps entailed.

Follow OpenOutcome's steps below. Also provide us with your computer's make and model. An Everest Report could also help. Click on "Everest Instructions" in my sig, and follow the instructions.

Hey there Oshkee,
The process System Audio WDM Filter belongs to the software Microsoft Kernel System Audio Device. Guessing it probably has to do with your audio drivers. Either something went wrong updating them, or they just haven't yet been updates :)

Go to the device manager:

Press the windows logo key + pause/break key. Go to the hardware tab and click Device Manager.

Check under your sound and video tabs. Right click the hardware that is opened up, click properties. Head to the drivers tab and click Update driver. If you get any updates let me know.

Have you installed any updates recently?

Best regards,

Jason

P.s. Right next to the pause/break key is Print Screen. It will screenshot what is displayed and save it to your clipboard. A.k.a, if you open a simple program like paint and click paste - the screenshot will appear. Save it and upload it! :)

Edit: Psh, I had to write a lot more.. :)

Hey again Oshkee,
Hey, nice job on the screenshot! Lol.
You can download the driver from online. Here is the link: http://www.downloada...load_36188.html
Download it and store it someplace where you can find it. When you've downloaded it, go to the folder, right-click it to extract the files from the zipped archive. It should leave you with another folder, called something like : A1u580c
Open the folder, navigating to the Setup.exe application. When you've installed it - restart your computer.
Do your problems continue?

Best regards,
Jason

Wow, I guess that wasn't the correct driver.. Lol. You should go back and roll back the driver.

Oh, I was confused. The yellow exclamation was around your video controller and not the audio device. Haha, my bad.

At the device manager again, click the + next to display adapters and check if your NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 is updated.

Did you uninstall the audio driver I told you to install? That was my mistake, the audio is fine.

Your temps look ok. I am not suspecting that as being the problem.

*** stop: 0x0000009e (0xc0000005, 0xbf0aa902 0xf652cbe4 0x00000000)
*** nv4_disp.dll - address bf0aa902 base at bf012000, datestamp 453bdc7a

This is a rare BSOD. I have never seen it. It has to do with your NVIDIA display drivers.

Lets update both your audio and video drivers. It is always good to have the most up-to-date stable drivers. Go to your motherboard's site here: http://www.asrock.co...e...0R5.0&s=478
Download the audio driver and install it.

Go here: http://www.nvidia.co...75.19_whql.html
Download and install. When installing drivers, disable your Anti Virus suite's "Auto - Protect" b/c that can interfere with a video driver auto configuring itself.

Also, test your memory and hard disk.
Click on "Memtest Instructions" in my sig, and follow the steps entailed. Post the results.

Run a Long Diagnostic with Seatools for Windows, found here: http://www.seagate.c...000dd04090aRCRD
Post the results.

Also go to the directory C:\Windows\Minidump
Make sure that hidden files are visible.
Then zip up the recent (within a week) files in that folder.
Attach the .zip archive to your next post.

Your hard disk looks good.
Since Memtest doesn't run in Windows, it doesn't matter if the driver works or not.

Download the drivers I suggested. But first roll back the sound driver.

Your hard drive seems to be in good condition.

Go here: http://www.imation-s...l_firmware.html
Download and install the 2nd one down. This is for your CD drive.
