Is it normal when running MBAM, to receive an error code "721 (0,5)" during its scanning process? I'm trying to see if I have malware on my PC. Any help is appreciated.

Run chkdsk
Go to Start -> Run, type cmd, hit enter. From there, type chkdsk C: /r to check the C: drive. Repeat for any other drives/partitions you might have by replacing C: with the correspondent drive letter.

If there's an error and chkdsk doesn't complete/fails post the exact error message here. NOTE that if you get the following message:
Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)
Type Y, and then press ENTER to schedule the disk check, and then restart your computer to start the disk check.

When done, try running a MBAM scan again, see if the problem persists. If so, post here, or address to the MBAM support team or forum.

If MBAM doesn't want to run, your computer may be infected.

I suggest that you start a new topic in the Malware Removal and Spyware Removal area.

Before you start a new topic click on this link --> Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide, Please read before starting a new topic. This will give you a few preparations to make, as well as instruction for posting your OTListIt2 log.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
