Laptop: Dell XPS M1330

A family member spilt wine on their laptop a few months ago and wrecked it. All the documents etc were recovered from harddrive. He gave it to me and I thought I would fix it.

I opened it up and it all looks fine, however when you turn it on, it starts for about two seconds and then turns off time after time. Does anyone know what the problem could be and what parts I may need to change. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks alot

Oh boy, this doesn't sound good. My first guess would be the motherboard.

Oh really? Is there any way that I can check it or maybe even fix it?
Thanks for your help
