I
Instead of using the Windows XP CD, use the CD that you burned earlier.

Meaning the CD made from the first link?

Ok, I can't get my Windows side to do anything, so are you telling me to start from the Mac side? Very confused here.

If you have another computer, use it to burn the disc.

Otherwise, download the .iso file in the 1st link to your Mac OS. Then burn it to a disc: http://www.psychocat...t/ubuntu/maciso

Then boot from the disc, and follow the steps in the 2nd link.

I'm sorry, but this is just too scary for this ole' grandma. I would feel much more comfortable just uninstalling and reinstalling the Windows .

I understand how this could be intimidating. I do know that this would solve your problem (about 97% chance)

Do what you feel comfortable with. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask them.

Good to know! :)

I have always been around computers. Helping out on a forum is a good way for me to get smarter and have some fun. :)

What have you decided to do? Try my steps or reinstall Windows?

I'm going to reinstall Windows. I have done that once already and did not have a problem.
Now if you could sit at my side here in Florida I'd give your plan a try. I really do not want to muck up my expensive Mac that I'm still paying for!

Go ahead then. :)
Once you are done, post the results back. We would like to see how everything went.

I've uninstalled the Windows portion w/o problem. I will wait til tomorrow to reinstall. Think I'll relax for the rest of the night. I'll let you know - I don't expect any problems but I think I'll do it with a refreshed brain....Thanks again. :)
