Monitor says Power-on Password

I boot up my computer and the monitor says Power-on Password. How do I get this off?

More likely the computer's saying this than the monitor. I've never heard of a monitor itself being PW-protected though I suppose stranger things have happened.
Anything else on the screen? What happens if you type your password in?
