Okay so I just purchased the new Sims 3 video game and when i insert the disc the game does not run.
I click on my computer and then i click on: Sims 3 (D:) however it leads me to a different file called .DS Store
When i click on .DS Store it says Windows Cannot Open File
it gives you to options to select a program from the list or to look at recommeded programs from a list
i even tried buying programs to relocate files ive had in the past and that didn't work
I just don't know what to do ?

How about right clicking Sims 3(D:) and choosing explore? I'm assuming the game hasn't been installed yet.. you'll be looking for a setup.exe. Open that if you can find it.

Post some computer specs. Are you sure your system can run it?
These are the system requirements I found online for Sims 3:

THE SIMS 3 MINIMUM HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

FOR WINDOWS XP
* Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
* 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
* 1 GB RAM
* At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content
* 128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0

Download Everest and install it. After opening it, click report at the top left. Choose system summary only, and plain text. Post that log with your next reply, and we can compare the requirements.

Go to My Computer -> right-click on your Sims 3 CD -> Explore, then in the list of files, double left-click on the file Autorun.exe

only the .DS Store file is available no sims 3 one

Not quite understanding.. when you right click, and explore, you only see a DS. Store file? DS. Store files are MAC files.. you are using Windows Xp right? Where did you get Sims 3?

yeah i have windows XP and i got the game from Gamestop

nvm im pretty sure its my disk drive not the disc
