Hello,

Im running Vista on a Vostro 1510 laptop, 3gig RAM, 1.8GHz dual core processor, just a pastime computer. I've had the laptop for ~4 months now, and in the past month it has been locking up and acting strange. Anywhere from a few minutes to an hour after startup the bottom toolbar including the lower-left Vista icon will freeze. It can be fixed for a few minutes by doing CTRL-ALT-DELETE which will un-freeze the toolbar, but it often locks right back up in a few minutes. Also, when navigating through folders or webpages, pretty much anything with a forward/backward navigation, it will randomly flip back through previously visited pages to the front page. When this happens I can still navigate through webpages, but every new page must be opened in a new tab, which you can imagine is very annoying.

This happens ~half the time I use the laptop, and normal programs run perfectly fine. The only thing thats really affected is web-browsing and navigating through folders in My Computer, and the lower desktop toolbar freezing. If you need any more info just let me know.

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks.

Please go to the Malware Forum and run all the steps located in the START HERE. These self-help tools will clean up 70% of computer problems on your own. If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post the requested logs, from the Malware/Spyware Cleaning Guide, in THAT forum. If you are unable to run any of the tools, then start a new topic in the malware forum with the subject line...I am unable to run any malware tools

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware staff helper, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
