I am having broadband connection using BSNL Type II modem WA3002G4. This is connected to Two Desktop PCs (OS: Windows XP) through wired connection and to One Laptop (OS: Windows Vista) through wireless link.

I was able to browse properly on all PCs. But from one week, I am observing that in One PC (This PC was connected to internet first in all three PCs) I have regularly "Page Load Error" for most of websites (in Firefox and Internet Explorer also) - and sometimes websites are opened improperly and/or they run very very slow. On other PCs (Laptop and other desktop PC), I can access all sites normally.

I have installed all drivers properly but facing difficulty in browsing on First of Desktop.

I have tried some solution from one forum (in this site) suggesting for using "Startup Inspector for Windows" and "CCleaner xxx". I did that, but my problem is not getting solved.

Can somebody tell me what might have gone wrong. What can I do to solve this problem.

Is this modem/router combo, or you have separate router?

On your desktop...

1. Click Start>Run (Start>"Start search" in Vista).

2. Type in (or copy and paste):

cmd /c ping google.com>%temp%\$.$&notepad %temp%\$.$

and press Enter.

3. Notepad will open.

4. Copy all text in Notepad ([Ctrl-A], then [Ctrl-C]), and then post it (paste = [Ctrl-V]) in your next reply.

It could be malware.

Try to move the cable to another port in the router and see if it makes any difference.

Download and run TCP/IP and WINSOCK fixes. You can use the the links in my list below.

It could be a faulty ethernet card. Try to install another card into a PCI slot, let windows install the driver and see what happens.

The above results show, that you do have a connection, but for some reason, your desktop browsers refuse to work.
Let's put laptop aside, since there are no problems there.
As for your desktop...
Restart it, and keep tapping F8 key until menu appears:

Using keyboard arrow keys, select Safe Mode with Networking.
See, if your browsers will work there.

I have been having the same problem w/ Firefox & IE for the past two days.

However, Google Chrome DOES work.

Have tried the other steps suggested above.

I will now try the Safe w/ Internet reboot.

Curious to follow Kumari's progress.

Thanks for your help Broni.

Dear Mr. Broni,
Surprisingly, I am able to use internet (since today morning) and yet to implement your suggestion. But even before that I found that sites are working (with minor problems)

What I done is as explained in Post No. 1 above... now its running properly.

Now can I assume that problem might have been solved...

Even yesterdays "ping... " commands also gave similar results on two PCs...

Please reply...
