I have a Dell Latitude D600 that recently quit connecting to Internet Explorer. I am running on XP. When I click on Internet Explorer, a window pops up as if it was going to launch and then it closes down. I tried to open Firefox and that wont even open. I copied Malwarebytes' Anti Malware onto the laptop and ran a scan. It found some infections which I then removed. But still nothing. Also noted that when I go to the the Control Panel, under internet options, I click that but nothing opens. I even tried running ipconfig, but nothing works. Any thoughts? Is my system trashed? I'm ready to toss this into the scrap heap. I bought this as a refurbished laptop so all of the software came preloaded.

Let me see if I can help, diabillic.

irishalltheway66, please go to the Malware Forum and run all the steps located in the START HERE. These self-help tools will clean up 70% of computer problems on your own. If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post the requested logs, from the Malware/Spyware Cleaning Guide, in THAT forum. If you are unable to run any of the tools, then start a new topic in the malware forum with the subject line...I am unable to run any malware tools

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware staff helper, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
