Help, XP Stuck on Loading Screen

Hi,
I am running windows xp with sp2 installed but i have been having a probelm when i boot my computer it gets to the xp loading screen with the bar moving across, but it does not move from that screen. I have left it on for a number of hours but still no luck on starting. I can only get it to work if i keep turning it off and on again around 15-20 times. Safe mode does not load either.

Any ideas.
