Last night, I tried to format my 320 GB external drive in FAT32 using the command prompt in Vista (I was hoping to be able to use the drive on a Mac at work as well as my Windows machine at home). After more than 12 hours, it is still stuck at 74%. I want to cancel the format, but I don't know how. Will it hurt anything to simply unplug the drive and close the command prompt window?

Thanks :)
