Are there any programs out there that scan my network and correct all possible errors, the problem that im having is, whenever i try to load a program that needs to login, it takes '35' seconds, where as if i enable 'HotSpotShield' it log's in within 2 seconds, something is very weird and unhealthy about my organic internet connection, when using artificial help (proxy aka HotSpotShield) connection problems seem to be cured, the only downside is -Slow Browsing-, another weird thing when im not using my proxy is, Internet Explorer seems to be going very very slow but Firefox is just normal and fast, but ofcourse AGAIN when im using the 'ProxyHSS' internet explorer returns normal and goes faster than normal connection, as you can see it's so strange, it doesn't look like a very DEEP connection issue but a rather strange one? when it comes to connection issues i have 0.01 percent knowledge, i wish this was a virus issue, but i don't think it is since nothing hear is reporting anything bad and no bad processes are running either, so yeah... help would be Much much much appreciated

Oh and i forgot, this connection issue seemed to have happened 'Out of the Blue' i really don't know how this has evolved..

Hey Jaxon,

Does Internet Explorer still run slowly in Safe Mode with Networking?

Step 1 - Restart your machine in Safe Mode with Networking:
Please restart the problematic machine in Safe Mode with Networking and then see if IE still runs slowly.
*Note: You will not be able to use a wireless connection while in Safe Mode; please ensure all tests are performed with a wired (Ethernet) connection.

Please also do a tracert to google and post the results.
  • Press Start
  • Select Run
  • Type cmd and press OK
  • In the new command prompt window, type tracert google.com > C:\trace.txt
  • This command will take a few minutes to complete -- wait for your command prompt to return. Navigate to your C: drive and open the text file trace.txt -- please copy/paste the contents of this file into your next response.
Step 3 - Generate a startup and uninstall list:
Please download HijackThis (if you do not already have it) and install it -- once it is installed, restart your computer. Once the computer starts up, launch HijackThis and then select the option Open the Misc Tools section -- select Generate StartupList log. Save the startup list in a safe location. Now select the option Open Uninstall Manager and then click Save list -- save it to a safe location. Please post the contents of the startup list and the uninstall list in your next response.

Thanks Joxon. If the issue persisted while in Safe Mode, then it's unlikely to be a software-based issue. I believe that your issue is most likely due to a persistent registry entry which is affecting Internet Explorer (i.e. pointing it to a proxy server). The best way to identify and resolve this is through the use of HijackThis; however HJT logs can only be posted in the malware forum.

For this reason, I'm going to get you to go over there and start a new thread. I'll post the steps you need to follow below; however one additional step you'll need to take is to include a HJT log in your post, and mention specifically that you would like them to look at possible proxy setting issues.

Run HijackThis again and select Do a system scan and save the log -- this is the HJT log you'll need to include in your malware post, along with the other logs I'll mention below.

I suggest you go to the Virus, Spyware and Trojan Removal forum and run all the steps located in the START HERE thread. These self-help tools will allow you to clean up to 70% of problems on your own. If you are still having problems after performing these steps, then please follow Step Five: Rootkit Detection and Step Six: Post an OTListIt2 Log; ensure you post your logs in the Virus, Spyware and Trojan Removal forum. If you are unable to run and/or post any of these logs, then mention that in your initial post in the topic you create in that forum.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
