Hello guys

I'm having a problem with my computer, rather annoying one ;) . Once in a while my system stalls, most often (I think it's always) shortly after booting. The screen goes black and there are few white vertical stripes :tazz: . But sometimes my system just reboots without warning when I'm working in some program. But I'm almost sure that this always happens shortly after booting the computer.

My system is a Athlon 2200+, 512 RAM, WIN xp sp2 and I use Norton AV+firewall.

I have updated my antivirus program and run a full system scan but that did not help. I recently had a problem with some spyware but I believe I got rid of that. Does anyone have any suggestions or explanations? Does this sound like an hardware failure maybe or can it be some virus or spyware?

;) :)

go to start, my computer, right click, manage, event viewer and look for events, especially the red x ones that correspond to the time of your problem. Right click, properties and view the details of the message. You can also send a report to M$ and view their knowledge base for additional clues as to the cause and possible fix.

OK, I'll try that next time this happens.
