Hello there,

I'll get straight to the point, whenever I instert a dvd/cd/data cd into my dvd drive, at first it begins to spin rapidly and the green light on the side of the tray flashing repeatedley. The eject button does not have any effect, neither does the dell eject fn key. I have also found that this stops the computer going into standby when I push the power button or close the lid. However, when I restart, the dvd drive behaves as it should and plays the disc perfectly.
I have downgraded from Vista to Xp incase that helps.
I am not aware of Dell having any patches for this issue.
Thanks very much in advance for your time,

Ali
