Yes I ran the Samsung diagnostic. It gave a couple errors and rec'd erasing the HD. I removed the diagnostic cd and rebooted. I am now in safe mode and think I can probably get back to normal. Do you have any suggestions while I am in safe mode? I don't have a USB to back up the HD and will do that tomorrow.
Thanks for your help.

I am booted in normal without cable. I have a virus protection from our cable supplier. I have an error, 'Malicious code found in Master Boot. Record of disk MBR (0x80). Infection: Backdoor.Win32.Sinowal.deg'. In the Secure pop up it says 'the only way to remove the infection is to delete the file'. I am not sure where to find the file.
Thank you,

So this has been caused by an MBR infection...
Now you can boot into normal mode without any problems right?
Follow the guide here: http://www.geekstogo...uide-t2852.html
If the problem persists, then post the logs asked for in the Malware Forum.
