I have been reading up on on graphics cards, and I ran into an issue where people's performance in games are subject to their builds. For instance, my current system (in my signature) with a HIS ATI Radeon 4890 added could have a cpu bottleneck issue...

So what I am really wondering is, what would be the most compatible combination for an AMD Athalon Phenom II 3.2 quad core processor on an Asus M4A78 Pro motherboard with AMD 780G north bridge and AMD SB700 South Bridge. And DDR2 PC8500 RAM. I am about to build this, actually parts are in the mail, and I'm looking in a few weeks to get a video card.

So the question is: What is compatible, and how do you judge whether is it will bottleneck or not. (interface wize I know what is compatible, I'm just worried about getting the best bang for my buck so to speak)

Anyone?

I'm thinking I'm gonna go with the 64 bit Windows XP version and see what I can do about drivers... I just hope my DVD ROM and HD work with both....
