I'm not sure. It's been a while since I tested Samsung drive.
When at DOS prompt, it's safe to simply turn the computer off using power button.

Hi, I am trying to back up my computer, this takes a while. The Low Level Format is going to erase my harddrive< Is this what we are doing??? I read this on Samsungs web. Thanks

OH, I also discovered today, that any Cd or DVD I try to play will not work. I put several CD's in, and checked my computer, it shows the disk and whats on it but it will only run for a minute then quit it never loads. Along with not being able to read my card reader to download photo's this was a surprise.

Yes, it will. You're supposed to run test, not format.

I do not understand, I ran the DRIVE Diagnostic yesterday. And it said Hard Drive has no errors. After that this stuff below appears and that is what erases my drive. What am I doing wrong? I followed the instructions exactly as the pictures showed on the additional info when I went to Tackteck . Thanks

Now I see what you're talking about. Leave it alone then.

I'm not sure what else we can do here, short of backing up your data, and reinstalling Windows.

Honestly, I see no other option.
You can use USB stick for backing up your data. You can get 8GB stick for under $20. Lot of space.

Well, you can't back up a whole computer on a flash drive, but you can backup your data (files) by copy/paste commands.

I don't know what you need. Any files (pictures, music, etc.) you can't live without.
