I thought maybe it was the driver but i recently downloaded a new driver from nvidia n it didnt do anything

Is the monitor also new? If not try a known working monitor. This will show also if it is the monitor or the system itself.

How old is the tv?
Can the tv support the resolution you are playing at from pc?
What is the make and model of tv?
Try lowering resolution and see if that helps.

Try lowering resolution
Check cables on both ends
Do you have a monitor to test with?

Check the ends of the cable and make sure there are no bent or broken pins.
If the ends are female then check the corresponding male ends for the pins.
Make sure the cable has not been damaged in any way.

I'm glad it is working but please check the above just in case. It could be as simple as a loose connection but just for your own peace of mind I would check the above.
