Hello everyone,
Recently i tried to defrag my hardrive and it told me i had to run chkdsk f first. when i attempted to it said volume c was already in use and if i would like it to run on next restart. I selected yes and next restart it indeed did run, however, when it finished and restarted after the windows screen all I get is a blank black screen. If i restart again it brings me to the screen with safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompts, return to last know good configuration, and run windows as normal. I tried windows as normal, and even running safe mode (when i do that script starts but then freezes). Please help!

thanks in advance.

Run hard drive diagnostics: http://www.tacktech....ay.cfm?ttid=287
Make sure, you select tool, which is appropriate for the brand of your hard drive.
Depending on the program, it'll create bootable floppy, or bootable CD.
If downloaded file is of .iso type, use ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/ to burn .iso file to a CD, and make the CD bootable.

NOTE. If your hard drive is made by Toshiba, unfortunately, you're out of luck, because Toshiba doesn't provide any diagnostic tool.
