Hi
OS - xp pro sp2
Intel Desktop Board

Gone through the regedit, changed the network card, did virus scan, but still received this error.
Had to format and reinstall OS. Now iam not getting this error. But the machine is hanging at times and takes ages to boot, though i have not installed any major applications.
Is it something to do with the machine heating up issue?

Thanks

please be more specific...what are you doing when you get this error message...

what do you mean by this

Gone through the regedit

and this...

changed the network card

look in the device manager for any yellow ! or ? marks

go to start...run...type in services.msc press enter

there are 2 entries for RPC...set them both to automatic and start the service...
may require a reboot to start working

Also post any RPC failures you see from the System log in Event Viewer
