Hello,

I, like a lot of other people apprently, cannot get the SIM2 Double Deluxe game to run on my obviously outdated computer. After hours of research I have decided that I more than likely need a new video card.

The only one I could find was the GeForce FX 5200 at Walmart.com for like 30 bucks.
Would this card work on my older computer?

I have an HP Pavilion 6830

We are running on Windows XP Home Edition

It has an Intel Celeron Processor (690 MHz)

Memory= 190 MB RAM
(Would I need to purchase a RAM stick if I upgraded the video card?)

Will this video card definetley work with DirectX 9.0c?

Our current video card has the 32 MB of memory, however, I do not think it is compatible with the version of DirectX listed above needed to play the d*** game.

Our current video card is Intel® 82810 Graphics Controller.
PLEASE HELP!!! Plain english would also be very helpful. I have no idea about computers I got this far by research for hours. :) :) :) :)

Thanks!!

I checked here: http://thesims2.ea.c....php?help_id=21
and the 5200 is listed. It should work for you. I also checked with hp, and it appears that your computer has an agp slot available. This is where your video card will be physically installed.
