Hello Folks

I unfortunately got the virus as well.
Here is what I did after reading the instructions:

1) I used Trend Micro Free Online Virus Scan. It said I cannot delete 2 files. I forgot the names of the 2 files, but I can probably get it again after doing another virus scan

2) I did a AdAware scan

3) I also used the HiJackThis Program and got this:

Anything else I need to do? I still have the blue screen with the alert "error was caused by "trojan-spy.html.smitfraud.c"

So far the only problem I have noticed is when I open a new page with IE it opens up a "about:blank" page. Any assistance would be great!

*Please go http://www.howtotell.com (Microsoft website) using Internet Explorer ( not Firefox or any other browser as they won't work)
*Click on "Windows Validation Assistant"
*Click on the "Validate Now" button.
*Be patient while the ActiveX loads, do not click on any links.
*Read the instructions on this page while it's loading. You will be prompted to install - click YES.
*Enter your product key then click "continue"
*When it says "Validation Complete" please click "Continue to return to your previous activity"
*Copy what it says and paste it here.
