Had to install a fresh Xp on my Dell 8400 tower

ive been to the dell website but cannot find the an audio driver that works

also on trying to upgrade from sp2 to sp3 the upgrade fails

any ideas

help appreciated

go here...enter your service tag number...get your chipset driver and install it first...I highly recommend that once your at the site you grab all the drivers for your computer...download and burn them to a cd...just in case somewhere down the road you need to reinstall a driver you will have any you may need...
no joy...
install the audio driver...
and for any other drivers that the device manager shows is missing...click on any with yellow ! or ? mark...then click on action...update driver...then point it to the cd drive with all your drivers
