Open Notepad.
Paste following text into it:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\InProgress]

Save the file to your desktop as fix.reg

Right click on fix.reg file, click Merge.
Disregard any warning(s).

Restart computer.
Try installation again.

It doesn't matter. Something wrong here.
Did you use Notepad?
Did you copy, and paste exact text, including blank 2nd line?
Make sure, "word wrap" in Notepad is disabled.

No. It won't work.
Your computer has some glitch somewhere.

Let's try different way.
Go Start>Run, type in:
regedt32
Click OK.

Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer
Right click on InProgress sub-folder, click Delete

Restart computer.

OK. Were you able to delete that registry folder?

If so...

1. Choose Start > Run, and type msiexec /unreg in the Open text box; click OK.

2. Choose Start > Run, and type msiexec /regserver in the Open text box; click OK.

Watch for "space" after "msiexec".
