Okay, recently my WoW crashed and gave me a blue screen. Really random. Sometimes monitor shuts off and tower is still on with fans still spinning. It's happened before but no problems just rebooted and vent some anger (cause i still haven't figured how it randomly crashes *this would probably go under Games section but different story*)
After the crash i startup when it says on the blue screen Windows starting up i get a dialog box saying:
The file or directory $System is corrupt or unreadable. Please run Chkdsk utility.
Next box:
The file or directory C:\$System is corrupt or unreadable. Please run Chkdsk utility.
The heading of the box was: winlogon.exe - Corrupt file so i'm assuming these apps were trying to access this $System or what not.
When it loads up my settings and my desktop, my ATI control panel shuts off because the drivers are not installed or unable to be read. I'm pretty sure my video card is one of the center of these causes. When i right-click and select Properties a yellow triangle at the bottom right taskbar displays
rundll32.exe - Corrupt file
The file or directory C:\DOCUME~1\<my name>\My Documents\My Pictures is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility.
I think this is related to my vid card again because i assume this has to do with my wallpaper since that's where it's located in, My Pictures.
Some symptoms:
*In Display Properties -> Settings
Display is set as (Default Monitor) on and not as my video card Radeon 9600 Series
*My Start Menu -> Programs -> most of the folders have (Empty)
*My games don't load cause of no vid card such as WoW
*No DirectDraw, Direct3D, AGP Texture Acceleration are all disabled/can't enable
when i run dxdiag.exe i get the $Secure corrupt/unreadable message again in that yellow triangle.
*My web browsing is very slow when scrolling.
Some solutions i tried was rebooting, I tried using system restore but i think the $System problem had something to do with not allowing me to successfully restore it and solve this problem. I tried re-installing video drivers. Then i uninstalled them all but now they will not allow me to install it back because i need to install a VGA display adapter. I EVEN tried doing that but in the Found New Hardware it says i ran into problems:

The last line totally baffled me. Not intended for this platform?
