I've had my computer sound settings set to play audio for anything I play it on, Windows Media Player, YouTube, internet, Movie Maker.......AND also, so that I can record from the sound card instead of through the microphone on the monitor.

Suddenly, yesterday, after a year of this set up, it stopped recording from the sound card and recorded from the microphone. I went to see what the problem was in Control Panel, Sound Devices, and found a lot of options I knew nothing about in the way of what should be enabled and not, and what properties should be selected. So everything I tried that didn't work, I put back the way it was.

Restarted the comp, but that made the problem expand.

NOW I can't hear audio when played in ANY program on my comp, nor from any web page. I don't know what to do. Someone please help me. Thanks!
