Hi there,
I've recently had to reformat my hard drive, unexpectedly none of my drivers we're still there once I had reformatted. This is the first time I've come across, the problem is, I have no sound at all. I'm getting confused with the word drivers, one for audio, video, etc...
I have no idea where to begin in order to get my drivers back, I fluked getting my gfx card driver to work properly but still have no idea how to get my sound driver. Would somebody be able to point me in the right direction ? Thank you

After a reformat and reinstall of the OS all of the main board drivers are gone. The drivers are specific to the board.
What is the make and model of computer? Is it Dell, HP, Gateway, home built, etc.

Do you know the manufacturer of the main board?

Download (from my signature) Everest.
Run everest
On the far left expand computer
Click on summary
Go to the top and click on report
click on quick report-summary
click on plain text.
copy the info to your next post.

There is no need to include anything below Debug PCI

With this info we will be able to find the drivers that you need.

Everest didn't get me what I wanted. That is the 2nd time today. Not sure what is up with that, so....

Get me the following before I try something else.

What is the make and model of computer? Is it Dell, HP, Gateway, home built, etc.

Yes, the computer is running ok.

There is how ever a ? is showing for PCI Device.

Also no sound can be heard or detected on my pc.

[edit]

Ok I've managed to download a driver that's allowing me to hear sound.

Ok, I finally got thru the Asus site to where I needed to be. I was actually looking for this location before.

M2N-MX SE drivers

Expand out the audio section and then download and follow instructions.
I would also set another restore point just in case.

When this is done, I suggest that you burn the files to a CD for safe keeping. Of course try not to lose the CD.
