Hi,
Last Friday, I got a weird error that the computer couldn't find my keyboard. I opened the computer, dusted it, and it worked. However, when I loaded it up, I noticed two pornographic desktop icons that were obviously not supposed to be there. So, of course, it was a virus. I did the first thing I could think of and brought up Verizon Internet Security Suite to run a scan. Well, it gave me a weird error something like "This program has an error. Please restart your computer. If you see this error again, uninstall and reinstall your software." So I reset the computer.
I opened my virus protection again, same error. So then I tried a system restore- there are no bolded dates, and the box where you click a time says "there are no restore dates available at this time".
A few more resets, and I looked it up online. I found that these weird "YUR###.exe" files in the Task Manager and msinfo were viruses, so I deleted them. Lo and behold, nothing happened.
So I started the computer back up in safe mode, backed up all my stuff onto a thumb drive (which is probably virused now, too) and reset the computer to see if I could get onto the internet, maybe download a new virus protection. I restarted the computer into normal mode, and got the blue screen of death (all blue with white letters) just telling me that the error is 0x0000007 or something to that effect.
So I restarted it again, and tried "Restore from last working settings". Same issue.
I restarted again, in "Safe mode with networking". Same issue.
Now I can only get onto my computer in safe mode, can't connect to the internet, can't bring up my virus protection, and that's all I can do. I've actually unhooked the keyboard and I'm typing this from my Wii, the computer's so unusable. I can't download any "virus fixers" or things of that nature, because I can't get internet, and I can't find the XP install disk.
Help, please?
