AMD X2 Dual Core 6000 3.0GHZ or AMD Phenom 8450 Triple Core CPU 2.1 GHZ.

What I want to know is which one will give better overall performance for gaming and mainly media things. Is another core worth the loss of GHZ?

Ghz speed went out the window years ago, it means absolutely nothing these days, quite why AMD and Intel feel a need to stick it on their packaging this far down the line is beyond me but there you go.
A triple core will usually be better than a dual-core with all other things being equal regardless of the clock speed of the two processors.
