DVD Rewriter

Hi Everyone,

I have just purchased a DVD Rewriter and i have physically fitted it in the PC BUT it isn't working, it will not play a DVD or a CD so i havent even tried to "Write" anything with it yet, so is there anything you can suggest that i need to do? When i turned the PC back on after fitting it , it did open up on the BIOS bit!

My PC is a Dell Dimension 1100 and i'm running Windows XP
