I keep having trouble with Driectx 9.0.
For example I'm in the middle of playing a game such as WarcraftIII and i've been playing it for about an hour and all of a sudden it freezes and closes. When i try to star it up this is the exact message that comes up

"Warcraft III was unable to initialize DirectX. Please ensure you have DirectX8.1 or newer installed and that your display drivers are current. Direct X may be found on your Warcraft III install CD under Options"

Now I went into options, clicked install directx 8.1 (yes i know that is an old version but i jsut want the ting to work) and says you have either current or newer version installed and i still cannot open Warcraft.

Similarly I cannot open World of Warcraft due to a similar problem. (Again i can play for a while and it then frezess and cannot open, a restart doesn't help but it I turn off computer for about a day or so it works fine for a good couple hours)
The error message that comes up on World of warcraft is as follows

"World of Warcraft was unable to start up 3d acceleration. Please make sure Directx 9.0c is installed and your video drivers are up to date.)

Also happens after a whle with Rome Total War.

I know it's a mouthful but please help, it keeps getting more and more constant. could it be a problem with Win2k?
