Stop Programs Running at StartUp

Probably a basis question but how do I start and/or stop programs from running when I turn my computer on? I have a program that I seldom use that is loading everytime I start my computer.

click Start > run > type msconfig click ok > click the Startup tab at the top

then uncheck the box beside what you want to disable
