Hooking up Sata HD & IDE DVD Rom

Well I thot it was going to work as it tried to logon then went black then the blue screen. Error message:
stop c000021a {Fatal system error}
The windows logon process system terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000006.
The system has been shut down.
NOW I had this PC in the shop for Logon problems (it took them 3 weeks to get it back to me) and they told me I had a virus so that is why I have the new HD. Could this possibly be related to that previous problem?

UPDATE!!! It was the sata cable. Thanks for your help!
