Hey guys,
I finally got my second computer to stop rebooting all the time thanks to your help. Now the only time I encounter this problem is when I use Disk Cleanup- and the only when I select "Compress Old Files" Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks

almost sounds like heat.....you're computer is working very hard at that point....

that said, let's do a disk check

start > run, type
cmd
<enter>

at prompt type,
chkdsk /r
enter

say yes when windows offers to scan at next reboot.

On reboot (will take a while),

start > run, type
eventvwr.msc
enter

Look under system for winlogon

does it report any errors found?

I ran the chkdsk /r
Now the system reboots before reaching even the log in screen- including when I attempt last know good configuration and safe mode. When I attempt to boot from the XP CD to repair the system, I get the blue screen of death. :tazz:
