I was trying to put an index in my word document and I must have clicked on the wrong thing... when i clicked on this all the spaces are shown as "dots" and the returns are shown as a "backwards P".
I tried UNDO but this does not work!

How do I get rid of these as they are annoying!

Cheers,

g.

On the standard toolbar, you'll find an icon that's been activated. It looks like your "backwards P" click on it again and it will turn it off.

Stuart is right!
However, that backwards P is great for editing your word documents. It lets you see all the spaces, like you now know, and other formatting so you can remove extra spaces between words and fomat the arrangment of paragraphs and page breaks.
Just my 2 cents worth.
