OK, I use an old CRT monitor. Since the power switch is in a difficult-to-access area, I got a simple .exe to turn the monitor off, like the screensaver does.

Recently, whenever I run the .exe, my monitor flickers like its changing refresh rate. Half of the screen is normal, while the other half is flickering. Note, the screen is black when it does this (as if the application were actually doing its job)

Here is a crude text depiction of what happens:

I need to know if it is the .exe acting up, or if my CRT is dying. Program is attached.

And now it randomly works fine.
