My suggestions are all great and free. AVG Free Edition for antivirus. For a firewall, ZoneAlarm for advanced users or Sygate for beginners. I highly suggest getting SpywareBlaster for spyware protection.

Thank you for the advice. Sometimes it seems “too good to be true”, a free anti-virus software work as well, as the paid one.
