Dear reader,

A long time ago I bought the Aspire 8930 laptop with the Bluray disc drive. Until recently I never actually tried playing a Bluray disc. I purched the Planet Earth box in bluray so I figured I give it a shot.

Unfortunately, the bluray drive does not even recognize the discs. I've been trying to find a solution for weeks online and some people are able to play bluray discs with the same laptop so I conclude it must be my laptop not working right.

Then I came across a piece of software called AnyDVD. If I run the program it reads the DVD cause it says what DVD is inserted into the drive and it lists the DVD title, etc. So it does read it, but still when I go to My Computer and enter my Bluray disc drive it's empty, there's nothing inside and I've tried virtually every piece of software to play movies in but without any luck.

I've been struggling this for a very long time now, any, ANY help would be so much appreciated.

A side note, this laptop comes with Windows Vista but I downgraded to Windows XP, maybe this has something to do with it, but I couldn't imagine that being the case. What drivers do you need to download for your disc drive? I can't find the special drivers just for the bluray disc drive.

Thank you very much in advance.
