I got a emachine with vista on it and when i start it up it goes to the vista loading screen the after that it goes to a black screen and you can see the mouse cursor on it. does not go to the login screen. started doing this lastnight. Need help please this computer is brand new not even one year old. thanks

Hello jmhughes123...

When you try to start the machine, start tapping the F8 key after the system beep (or after the first splash screen if you don't have a system speaker) to access the Advanced Boot Options screen. Once on that screen, use the arrow keys to select "Last Known Good Configuration", then press "Enter".

Does using this option allow the machine to start correctly?
