My computer crashed. I restored xp. Once I connected to the Internet, I proceeded to use Windows Update to download and install updates. Everything ok so far. I downloaded and installed Service Pack 2, when I restarted my computer I got a "please wait" blue screen for over 1 hour. I manually restarted the computer, used System Restore to back up the computer to restart. I deleted this Service Pack 2, redownloaded another version and proceeded to install. Restarted the computer and again "please wait" blue screen. I let it sit for over 4 hours and then restarted and used System restore. Help! I know that I need Service packs for virus protection and proper function but I am at a loss at what to try next.....
