Last December, I built my own machine. Since then, ive had sporadic BSOD, and when I research the reason (IRQL_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, etc) They all say its probably related to RAM. Now, I found out vista has its own Memory test, and I ran it, hoping to find the culprit. That was o no avail, all my memory passed the test. So first question: How reliable is this test? And thats a lead for my second question: Is there a chance that one bad stick of RAM could cause other sticks to become defective, or corrupt a Windows installation?

Thanks for the help.

Edit: Sorry for the subtitle, thought i had typed dang, my apologies.

Software RAM testing is never 100% reliable.
If you have more than 1 RAM stick, try running computer for a while with ONE stick at a time.

Ill have to try switching things around, since i have 3 sticks. What bout the possiblity that one can corrupt the others or even Windows itself?

RAM can't corrupt Windows, but if you have 1 bad stick, it'll create errors, even if two others are fine.

Alright, cool, I just wanted to be sure it couldn't fully damage anything else. Thanks a lot for the help
