Word 2003 Closes While Minimized

Hi there, while working in the office, I will have Outlook and Word up at the same time. When Word is minimized, if there is not a document loaded into word, the program will close itself. This is very frustrating as I constantly have to use Word throughout the day. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

i'm still looking for an answer...but preliminary research suggest removing handwriting recognition

Open your Control Panel
- Open Regional and Language Settings (or Text Services for Windows
2000)
- Select the Language tab
- Click Details
- Remove Handwriting Recognition
