But how do I get things to get fed into the laptop and make the laptop a monitor?

I'm planning to hook up the Xbox 360 I have into the laptop so the laptop can serve as a monitor, but how do I do that?

I have an Alienware M17x.

I don't see where it can be done - you can come out of the notebook and go to a big external monitor, but I see no video inputs to display external sources on the notebook monitor. That is normally how it works too.
