If CHKDSK is stuck on a file for hours and hours, days, weeks and years, it's usually a sign (as was proved in the previous post) that the hard drive is on the way out.
The data isn't a problem if you have access to another computer - one of your own or a friend.

Thank you, I will have to access the data from another computer since it keeps getting back to CHKDSK
