I have an HP dv7 1245dx

The backspace button just popped off. I tried just pushing it back on but that doesn't work. How do I put keys back on? The button itself is not broken, just popped off some how.

laptop keys are notoriously hard to put back on...they've got springs and other widgets that hold them down.... your best bet is to look from the side at the key next to the backspace key and see if you can tell how it's attached underneath

I just purchased one off of ebay. Originally HP wanted 80.00 for the keyboard to send me. I got it off of ebay for 30.00.

When I had my older laptop, I could easily take the under neath of the laptop off and I could access the keyboard that way. With the newer laptops (hp dv7 1245dx) is it the same way still?

Try using this video tutorial link. It clearly shows how to install your laptop key back into the keyboard. It helped my last time to fix my 'r' key onto my Pavillion laptop. Browse through your brand and select your model number and then view the video guide for your model. Its very simple. Check:
