Like the topic says, just yesterday, my computer has crashed 3 times while gaming. Twice of which everything just gets stuck in place and I have to manually turn off the PC, and once which goes to the blue screen and then restarts itself.

I've been trying to figure out what it was. I have no malware or viruses of any sort that I'm aware of, even after running Malware bytes and my anti-virus program. Also, I had just replaced my old Power Supply Unit that same day with a new Antec430W which is way better than what I had(Hercules400W). The reason for the replacement was that my old PSU went out and couldn't turn the PC back on. Could the crashes be due to the PSU? I made sure all wires went to their appropriate places. I also thought I might add that I have the side of the case open with an external fan cooling the inside of the PC, so I don't believe it should be an overheating issue, unless I could be wrong but it doesn't feel hot at all while gaming.

I run Windows Vista 32bit, ATI HD3650 512MB, Intel Quad Core, 4GB Ram.

*Edit* Another thing that was a bit strange was that before the first crash I would use Avast! anti-virus which was working great up until the first crash where my security system began to notify me that I was unprotected and that Avasts on-access protection security wouldn't work even after reinstalling the program. It said something about having trouble finding a file. So I started using Avira Antivir and it continues to work fine even through crashes, but I just thought that was a bit strange.

1. Download, and install SpeedFan: http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php
Post your computer temperatures:

Posted Image

Provide processor info (hold Windows logo key, and hit Pause/Break key to find out).

2. Open Windows Explorer.
Navigate to: C:\Windows\Minidump folder.
If you see any .dmp files, zip all of them, and attach zipped file to your next reply.
[Vista users] You may need to copy .dmp files, paste them into some other folder, or desktop, and zip them there.

3. Please download VEW and save it to your Desktop: http://images.malwar...om/vino/VEW.exe

Double-click VEW.exe then under Select log to query, select:
Application
System

Under Select type to list, select:
Critical (Vista only)
Error

Click the radio button for Number of events
Type 20 in the 1 to 20 box
Then click the Run button.
Notepad will open with the output log.

In Notepad, click Edit > Select all then Edit > Copy
Reply to this post, click in the reply window and press Ctrl+V on your keyboard to paste the log.

My SpeedFan Temperature numbers look a little something like this:

(Checkmark) Core0: 42C
(Up Arrow) Core1: 43C
(Checkmark) Core2: 39C
(Down Arrow) Core3: 39C

All at 5.0% CPU Usage however.*

*Edit1* I thought I would mention here that as I'm gaming and keeping track of Speedfan, the temp numbers look a little something like this at 40-50% CPU Usage:

(Fire symbol) Core0: 54C
(Fire symbol) Core1: 52C
(Checkmark) Core2: 48C
(Checkmark) Core3: 47C

Processor info: Intel® Core™2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz 2.40GHz

.DMP Files are attached to this post.

Temperatures look fine.

There is only one recent (7/30) dump file, so it's rather hard to tell, if has a real meaning, or it's just one time happening.
In any case, the error is IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL @ ntkrnlmp.exe, which may indicate some RAM problem.

In your error log there are couple which happen several times.
I'm not sure, if they're connected to your problem with the game, but we may try to eliminate them.

1. "The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: i8042prt"
Open registry editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt edit the "Start" Value to 4.
This will change onboot_service to disabled.
Restart computer.

2. "99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003"
Go to control panel and open Administrative tools.
Click on services.
Go down to Windows Managament Instrumentation.
Stop this service along with Security Center.
Exit out of this area to your desktop.
Right click Start and choose Explore.
Go down to c:\windows or Winnt\system32\wbem\repository.
Delete the Repository Folder
Go back to Services and restart the WMI program
Then re-boot the computer

Okay so I just did all of that, so I'm assuming it should correct some of the errors that were showing up through VEW. Not sure if that's all of it, but I will try to game up and see if it the problem persists or not, thank you for your help!
