Ok i am getting nuts here
I reinstalled windows vista 32 on a clean disk... 3 times as updates are very good in screwing it all up again...

when those where done it installed a onboard sound driver also... but no sound. Tryed the driver i have on cd, no sound. Downloaded the driver from asus itself... no sound

My main board is the asus m2n-e sli
Anyone knows how to fix this before i set fire on it?

Hello there,

Are you using an audio card, or just the onboard audio that comes with the mobo? I suspect the latter - but give me an Everest report, by going here and following the instructions.

Have you got this downloaded already? Perhaps you have the wrong one.

Did the driver install properly and did you restart after it.
And sense its a Asus did you select the right OS your running?

Or maybe your soundcard is just shot.

Chipset driver istalled?

I can see, this board comes with different sound chips.
Download, and install Everest: http://www.majorgeek...wnload4181.html
Open it.
In left pane expand Computer folder.
Click once on Summary
In upper menu, go Report>Quick Report-Summary
Save it in text file, and paste it in your next post.
Don't include anything under the line Debug - PCI
