FORWARDING EMAILS WITH IMAGES

lately when i forward emails with photos or images, some of my recipients report that they cannot view them other than the text area, they just get the blank box with the little x in the upper lh corner. can anyone explain what is going on and/or help me resolve this issue? thanks, turfguy
