I have a USB 2.0 2 ports cardbus notebook adapter hi speed card that Im having problems with & I think I need to uninstall it & reinstall it to fix it but I cant find it in my device manager. Do I uninstall it from the device manager & if so where is it? Or how do I uninstall it?

I dont know what brand it is. I search the whole thing over for a brand name & didnt find one. Here is some of the information I found on it..............
usb 2.0, 2 ports cardbus, 32bit pc card, hi speed certified usb TM, nec chip, PCMCIA card bus. And the driver disk that came with it only says "Drive Hi-Speed port".
So I hope this helps a little bit.

That's no problem at all. I appreciate the description you have given us.

I have the user manual for a Belkin and that is why I asked about that.

About uninstalling the device drivers I would recommend first looking into the Add/Remove Programs inside of your Control Panel to see if it is there.

If it is not there then you can uninstall the driver through the Device Manager.

This can be dangerous as you could accidentally make changes to system required drivers using this method. Only use this method if you are absolutely sure you have the proper device/driver selected. Also please make sure that you have a valid system restore point established prior to attempting this.

When the card is installed and you are in your Device Manager just expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers and you should see an entry that describes that card. In there you can uninstall the driver by right-clicking on the device.

I cant find it in the device manager & if Im risking screwing up something by uninstalling it then Id rather not uninstall it. I have the driver disk.Is there anyway I can use the disk to repair it with out uninstalling it? Or maybe updating it?

I completely understand not wanting to take that chance.
If you would, please:

• Turn the computer off
• Insert the card
• Turn the computer back on

Once the system is completely loaded up, please:

• Right-click the My Computer icon on the Start menu or the Desktop
• Choose Manage
• Select Device Manager from the left pane of the Computer Management console, under System Tools
• Click on the little "+" symbol next to "Universal Serial Bus Controllers"

Please write down everything that is listed there and reply here with that information. This will help me in knowing what the "system name" for this card is. With that information I can find any information and/or known trouble with its different drivers.
