Aurora Problem

Hey,

I have used Lavasoft Ad-Aware and removed spyware caught by that, I have used Ewildo twice and removed Spyware that was caught by that program.

This one program called Aurora gives me pop ups for almost every page I visit on internet explorer. I followed what to do prior to posting a hijack this log, so here it goes. Thanks!

Hey,

Since there was no response, I decided to take matters into my own hands and use other posts and replies to try and fix my problem. So far Aurora seems to be gone. Can you make sure that it won't "spawn" back. Thanks.

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

HijackThis is being run from a temporary folder; this means that any backups it creates as a result of fixes made with it will be lost. Please create a new folder for it and place the program into that new folder. C:\Hjt\HijackThis.exe

Download CWShredder (there is a link in my signature), unzip it, and save it on the Desktop. Please do not run it yet, though.

Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Run CWShredder to fix your CWS problem.

Run ewido do a full scan

Please download LSPfix and save it to the Desktop and unzip it.
Run LSPfix and place a check against the I know what I am doing checkbox.
Highlight every instance of the following names and move them from the Keep to the Remove panel. Be sure to move nothing other than the files listed below!
10 - broken internet access because of lsp provider 'xfire_lsp_10650.dll' missing
When done, click on Finish to exit the program; do not use the X in the top right-hand corner as nothing will happen!

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items:

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them: If found
C:\Program Files\Kontiki<--Delete this folder
C:\WINDOWS\Bolger.dll<--Delete this file
Exit Explorer.

Clear out the files in the Prefetch folder. Go to start> run> type into the box Prefetch and delete all the files in that folder.

Clean out temporary and TIF files. Go to Start > Run and type in the box: cleanmgr. Let it scan your system for files to remove. Make sure all are checked and then press *ok* to remove:

Reboot as normal.

Please download, install and run this disk cleanup utility called Cleanup version 4.0!

It will get rid of any malware which may be hiding in your temp folders ( a common hiding place). You will also regain a massive amount of disk space. Here is a tutorial which describes its usage:

Check the custom settings to your liking under options, but be sure to delete temporary files and temporary internet files for all user profiles. Also, cleanout the prefetch folder and the recycle bin.
Reboot when prompted to let it clean out the remaining files.

Microsoft® Windows AntiSpyware (Beta) 2000 and XP ONLY. Run the program
Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them: If found
C:\Program Files\INSTAFINK<--Delete the whole folder
C:\Program Files\Media<--Delete the whole folder
C:\Program Files\MyWay<--Delete the whole folder
(and any other files with the same name that end in .dll, .exe or .dat, you may find them right next to each other, example - appsw.exe, appsw.dll, appsw.dat)
Exit Explorer.

Download Pocket Killbox and unzip it; save it to your Desktop.
Run killbox and click the radio button that says Delete a file on reboot.
Copy and Paste them one at a time into the full path of file to delete box and click the red circle with a white cross in it.
The program will ask you if you want to reboot; say No each time until the last one has been pasted in where upon you should answer Yes.
Let the system reboot.

This is a superior onliner AV scanner beta. Try it. You must enter any company name for it to accept you. It will take a long time to run but it is worth it because it finds more than most scanners.

MyWay No disinfected Windows Registry is a left over fromthe dell myway harmless

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items:
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file)
Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

You can delete C:\!Submit\satmat.ini<--Delete this file
The above folder is created by killbox and is used for file submitals
